Robot Locates Victim Stuck in Ventura County, CA, Pipe

Firefighters and rescue technicians had opened the pipe in three areas in an attempt to find him.

A robot assisted firefighters and rescue technicians by locating a man trapped in a pipe in Ventura County.

Crews had searched for the victim in three different locations in the narrow pipe.

“Utilizing the latest in robot technology, the Oxnard Police Department pinpointed the victim’s location, allowing our Urban Seach and Rescue Teams to safely extricate the individual,” according to a statement on X from Ventura County Fire Department.

The victim, who was wedged in a pile of debris, was transported to a hospital for treament of injuries.

How or when the victim got into the 36-inch pipe is unclear.
